2.8KB + TF heads = no fit....
Ok, so i had posted this in my build thread over on mustangforums and i thought i would share it as well with you guy in case you are going the same route i am...
"Copy and paste"
Update: So Ryan and myself worked on the motor this weekend and ran into all sorts of issues
Basically the 2.8H doesnt seat right on the TF heads... :(
The heads prevent the blower manifold from sitting all the way down in the valley of the motor like it should.
Anyway, so here is what we did Sat.
Bagged and taped the motor in preparation to grind off knock sensor mounts

took the cutting wheel and cut most of the mounts off

test fit the blower and the sensor mounts are still too high...
rebagged and tapped and took a grinder to the rest of the mount...

we then test fit the blower and found out the "head supports?" were in the way...

We then measured and marked these for cutting and bagged and taped the heads... anyone notice a pattern...

Notched the supports

At this point i'm getting happy cuz we are about to finally get the blower on top of the motor and it will actually fit right!!!
So we yet again lift the heavy ass blower on top of the motor for one more test fit...

wait... whats that.... let me get a closer look...

F#CK ME!!!!!!!! story of my life.....
here are some more pics
(driver side)

(area where it is contacting the driver side head)

(Passenger side)

(area where it is contacting the passenger side head)

so we stopped there to say the least. Pretty mad Sat night.
Called Nick @ modular head shop and he is supposed to be checking the coolant port thickness and if all is good, back to the cutting wheel and we will shave some material from the front areas of the head to make the blower fit right... I cant believe this @#$%...
anyway, here ore some pics of the blower on top of the motor for you guys...

(place valve cover on head just to see what it will look like)

Thats all i have for now.. basically we accomplished nothing this weekend as far as bolting everything together. Waiting on word from Nick and we shall see what the next step will be..

I just put a drill bit into that spot and you have a mininum of 1/4" to work with. Looking at the pictures I drilled directly underneath the flange overhang where it would/should be the thinnest. My measurement does not include taking the flange overhang off so you can cut it flush to the head and start there for fitment, then you have another ~1/4" of aluminum to work with.
IMHO - It looks totally safe to cut away what you have marked in black there.96 Bipolar GT
