i would just manifolds or find a set of used long tubes to check clearance the S197 has more room so i think that the 03-04 stuff will work just fine

But we found out how to do it. We started this car back in February this is a direct bolt in with no issues the cooling is not a big deal either as a matter a fact I use a 98 cobra thermostat and stock hoses from that same motor. The upper hose was a little tricky because we had to trim 3 inches off the stock cobra hose. And to think we did this around a turbo kit. but it was no real big deal
Dan thanx for the info... I was assuming he was doing the same conversion I'm currently doing and it sounds like he's using an aluminator or another 4valve. As you know I'm doing the GT500 motor and the cooling setup is extensive and expensive... It can be done easily for some one with a shop and the proper prices, parts and tools. Maybe issues was the wrong word as to say just need a lot more than the engine.

did you just get an aluminator long block and bolt the 3v accessories to it then?
The 4.6's are a short deck, the 5.4's are a taller/ wider long deck. The heads, be it 3v or 4v are essentially the same size for the 4.6's and 5.4's, however the intake manifolds are wider for the 5.4's. the 5.4's are also slightly taller and wider.

right, taller deck height from the 5.4 would make it larger.

ok, well im just gonna do this and make everything work. haha.

the motor im using a is a terminator(03-04 cobra)... BUT i am planning to use the cobra internals in an aluminum block from a mark8.... which i also hope will all work.

would it be possible to swap a mark VIII motor into a 99 grand marquis? or even a 99 cobra motor?
