Long tubes definately helped my car. It has to be in the tune somewhere. If headers made no difference, so many people wouldn't have them. Not trying to be a pain, just keep looking and at least consider a GREAT dyno shop with a GREAT tuner, not merely a dyno operator.

02GTP - Unfortunately, I don't have the software to help you with the cam timing question. Sorry again! (I'm batting zero here.)

+1 on that as well. I had similar results on my Mustang. Before longtubes I ran a consistent 13.2 at 102. After JBA longtubes, I ran a consistent 12.9 at 105 mph.

yea i bet that was with an off road mid pipe at the same time. thats what everyone says "i gained XX wheel and cut my time by XX sec with just headers." but they all fail to mention that was going from a stock exhaust to LT's/off road mid. 95% of that gain was from deleting the cats. ive seen your story 100 times and its been the same thing every time.

People have been putting LTs on hot rods for decades. It helps. At least consider a dyno tune. Nobody on here is going to gain from this except mayby you. Almost everyone on here is simply trying to share their experiences and expenses. I speak for myself and everyone I know when I say Long Tubes and a dyno tune helped our cars. Good luck.

I went from stock manifolds and cats to long tubes and hi flow cats. I can tell you off the bottle I picked up about 12 wrhp. On the bottle it was a consistent 30 rwhp on the same 100 shot. TQ jumped from 478 to 508. That too was consistent on the same 100 shot. I went with the JBA's because they seemed to show the greatest gain in TQ. I know every header is different and make power at different levels. I have no experience with the pypes headers. All I know about them is that they are made in China.
