To me it was what was offered close to me. If I lived close to JDM I would have gone Saleen. I have heard some Saleens are louder than others, but I have never seen a blower in person. My Whipple will be the 1st when it gets delivered and I can't wait.

IMHO, so does my whipple.....
FWIW I run a JDM tune on mine. MILES above the stock tune.

When I do my new motor later this year, I am going with the Whipple for sure. Seems like a safe bet. I know alot of guys in my area with them and they are all happy. I got to drive a '06 GT with a whipple that was putting down around 475 at the wheels last year and I had a blast. Very clean looking setup and pulls hard. Can't vouch for the Saleen though. Other than seeing one at a car show, I haven't seen one on the road around here.

There's alot of bigger hp whipples around but how fast are they? I haven't run mine yet because of fuel issues but I haven't really seen any #'s

Unless Striker5 is willing to change the bottom end with better connecting rods, pistons, and crank, this is really pointless as any of the big three (Saleen, Whipple, KB) will be easily capable of exceeding what the engine can handle.
So I would consider (based on where you live) who are the good tuners and shops in your area? What experience do they have (unless your doing it yourself).
In an earlier post there was referenced tensioner and belt issues---that is an non issue now due to the Thumprrr tensioner--I have one and it works great.
I picked the 2.3 whipple---complete kit with the dual GT500 pumps. I already had a tuner so I got the tuner kit. Capable of 600rwhp.

In car camera Irwindale Whipple Mustang
Supercharged Mustang Drag Racing
Kenne Bell Mustang vs Whipple Mustang
Obviously from watching those--the KB 2.6H is more then the 2.3 whipple can handle. But the 3.4 whipple is obviously another story. How far you want to go once you go that big is up to you.

$7888.00 and your power is done for the car. Somewhere around 460 to the tire for an automatic car, the maxium HP we feel you can run and still expect 100,000 miles out of the motor in that trim, nice sound at idle and WOT but not stupid loud, great wide powerband and not spinning the huffer so hard you're turning it into a microwave. And for someone with basic hand tools, it's a DIY driveway job.

I like to think my package is about the best blast for the buck i have read about . Jdm 3.6 pulley, saleen blower, 90 mm air kit, tuneup. That is it. Bone stock otherwise.
Best run at Brainerd intl raceway, 12.42 at 115 mph with a crummy 2.023 60ft. Every other thing about the car is bone stock. OOPs, forgot to say i upgraded to the MUSTANG logo floor mats!
P.S. I drive it like i stole it, 31,500 miles on it, 26,000 with the blower.

I have a genII whipple ans as they are fairly new...I'm not sure of the gains over gen I's.. My procal tune made good hp #'s but I have a car specific custom tune for absolute certainty that it won't fail due to the tune it runs.. Or I like to think so. These cars are built though, I mean stock for stock Saleen vs whipple in my previous post. Good stuff

They are now! The certification is done. They are just waiting for the parts to start coming in so they can ship the 08 kits out.
