Default Team JDM Ford GT Powered Lightning truck

Don Carson brought us his truck in 2007 and wanted a conversion that no one else had yet to perform. He wanted a Ford GT motor stuck in his 2000 Lightning truck and tuned up with a 3.4 whipple and all the goodies to make 800 HP! So we set him up with a 5.4 Aluminum Ford GT block that we machined and converted to wet sump, Bolted on a set of Ford GT heads that had mild port work and a set of factory Ford GT cams. This combination was topped off with a lower intake manifold from a GT500 and a 3.4 Whipple from a GT500. This combination left us with alot work to do, we made a custom 4v 3" exhaust system that Kooks helped design some headers with us on. We also designed a new fuel system using our current lightning system and upgraded the size of the feed line. We went with Aeromotive fuel rails and adjustable fuel pressure regulator as well.
Right now the Whipple is pullied to make around 15 psi of boost. With just this little bit of boost running through the engine we laid down 637 RWHP with only 14* total timing!! This is the "break in" pump gas street tune!! With some more miles on the truck and alittle extra boost we will have him sitting at 700 RWHP for the street. When we want to kick it over to the race tune we will add another 2-3 psi boost bringing Don around a total of 24 psi boost and hopefully netting in the ball park of 800 RWHP!! Now since we took Don's project on there have been two other trucks to make this conversion. They have made some serious power and ran some great times at the track but Don's truck is more of a show piece. Its going to make the power and run the times, but it took us over a year to get it prepaired because he wanted a truck that looks like it came with the engine installed in it. This meant literally hundreds of hours of custom fabrication and fittment. The end results were well worth it however! Anyways this is just some information on the conversion, here are some pictures for your enjoyment! Let us know what you think!!

Looks very nice JimIII.

Sorry we didnt see you at MIR, however I am still in need of that pulley and will call Monday, do you think I could pick up a couple of those "over the blower" fuel line holders that are pictured on this truck or are they custom?

TIA,

JJ@WMS

Err- not sure why you would try to compare dyno results from a twin screw setup through an auto, to a TT through a manual?
