Default Engine Failure... Again...

Well I just get back from the tuners. Ran great for three days. I fill her up with gas and leave the station. Never get into boost and loose a cylindar.

Start taking apart today and this is what I find... 0 compression on #2 drivers side bank...

Exhaust Valve slipped off the follower and bent clean over... Doesnt make sense...

I dont know what would cause this especally after 30+ runs on the dyno and multiple wot's for two days in a row... and 400+ miles...

This stuff is just dissheartening...

Its not stock valvetrain. MMR stage2 heads with nextec springs and MMR stage2 turbo cams.

They are good to 8000 plus.

So how high were you reving it? It doesn't look like the manley spring failed. Last I knew MMR used an off brand valve...

I personally would not rev any 4.6 past 7000

I have MMR stage 2 heads and stage 2 turbo cams, and my car makes peak power at 6300. It actually stops climbing hard at 5500 and just creaps on the power after that. I rarely run mine past 6 grand. I can shift anywhere from 5600 to 6400 and not have more than a tenth difference in et. Now with that being said, I do have my phasers locked, and I am sure that hurts power past 5 grand. Not saying that a 3v cant turn past 7 grand, just that I am not sure why one would need to (mild street strip engines/mild to moderate boost).
