Default Re: Anyone running 2 external fuel pumps (e.g. 2 Aeromotive A-1000s?) and other quest

I run two walbros 255 on full time. (2) -8 lines from the sump, inline filters before the pumps, y-block to -8 to an aeromotive filter under the hood and then to the rails. Car runs way better than it did with the aeromotive pump, its quiet and really reliable. Each pump is rated to 600hp. I ran the car at 25psi and had no problems with fuel. I'll never go back to a big noisy pump again!

Unfortunatly 2 walbros will only get me to around 840 crank HP with E85.

I'm really leaning towards the Magnafuel Pro Tuner pumps with one on full time, and the other coming on under boost with a Hobbs switch......just need to do something about the gay as purple on them!

whatever works for you. You can always do three, its not as bad as it sounds. I've heard alot of great things about the magnafuel, I think you'll be fine. The only reason I went with 2 walbros was they are OEM quality, I believe the z06 comes with one, and the fact my brother-in-law went 9.60's at 140 with 2 intank walbros and a stock block Grand National. Most Buick guys run Walbros without any problems.

The Supra guys run 3 of them also. They are good pumps. The guy ran E85 on TurboMustangs.com ran three of them and made like 1100rwhp.

I don't think I've ever shown you the video of my brother-in-laws car. Stock block, crank, rods, intake, stock/built tranny and rear end! Forged Wiseco pistons, GN1 aluminum heads and a little 70mm turbo. How do they do it? Funny thing is that car has a 9.40 in it. Car's full weight with A/C and drives it everywhere. I might have to get one. Enjoy

I am looking at doing something with my fuel system. I currently have a single Aeromotive A-1000. The tank I have has three fittings on the sump, so no problems there. Where on your car do you put both pumps back into a single line? You only mentioned one Y-block. Do you run two -8 lines to under the hood, then y-block into a single fuel filter, then y-block back out to both rails?

Thanks for any feedback.

yes only one y-block. I run two -8 lines to the pumps then y-block to a single -8 to the front of the drivers side rail and out the front of the passenger side rail to the fuel regulator. The back of my fuel rails are connected -8 braided. You can y-block and run two lines to the rails but I haven't had any problems.
