Ride of the Month - retfr8flyr - Modular Fords

  • Ride of the Month - retfr8flyr

Earl Rumans has been selected as the March 2012 Ride of the Month. Earl is one of our oldest members at age 67. He has been around a long time and has been racing and modifying cars since he was 15. Earl joined ModularFords back in 2006. His first car was a 1949 Ford coupe with a flathead V8, Offenhauser heads and dual Stromberg 97 carbs. He lived through the Muscle Car era that most of us have only read about. Earl went back to school when he got out of the Army and earned his flying licenses. He made a career flying with over 20000 hours and retired in 2005 from the airline portion of the overnight express company Airborne Express.

Earl has owned and raced many cars over the years, mostly Fords and Mustangs. He got his current Mustang when he retired and it’s been torn down so much that it only has 9000 miles on the odometer. Earl would like to thank Mike and Vinnie from Mid Atlantic Performance, stating "without them I would never have gotten the car back together". He hopes that he has finally gotten the car to the point where he can just enjoy driving it but also knows “it’s never finished”.

nice looking ride! Its done very tastefully, and your turbo setup is great to see in this day and age of roots style superchargers that run out of breath as the imports fly by!
