gday everyone, my name is Josh and im from Australia and thought i would post up some pics of my 2003 FPV "Pursuit" ute, i bought it 5 years ago and in that time i have been modding it to where it is now. It started out as a standard Boss 290 which i added some 1 3/4 headers, high flow cats and a twin 2 1/2 inch system, this is how it looked when i first got it.
After driving it n/a for around 12 months i was in need of more power so i bought a intercooled vortech kit it ran 382rwkw's(513rwhp) on 6 psi,
i added a 10psi pully and reached 420rwkw's(562rwhp) but it never left the dyno, 5 broken piston and a stuffed drivers side head.
ok, now with it needing a rebuild i went to a very well know modular builder and Tuner here in Australia called Blue Power racing developments, Chris set about rebuilding it with forged pistons, h beam rods, slight head port, custom grind cams, stronger oil pump gears, i was going to upgrade to a v7 ysi blower but Chris is the importer for the Kenne Bell blowers and it didnt take him long to convince me to put one of his new intercooler 2.6 units on my car. With the single throttle body set-up it was producing 390rwkw's(520rwhp) this was the run-in tune.
single throttle body set-up
here is a pic of the fuel system i have at the moment, it is a 4 litre surge tank with a bosch 044 pump and a Kenne bell boost-a-pump 80lb injectors, before the end of the year its going to get a new set-up with twin 044 pumps to run on e85
with a few km's(miles) on the new motor it was sent back to have the new twin 65mm throttle body and a 14psi pulley fitted where it pumped out a very healthy 480rwkw's(643rwhp)
here are a few pics of it here and there
at the drags where it ran 11.5 at 125mph with a slipping clutch, full street trim and 12 psi tune(400rwkw's)
this is from powercruise
on the dyno
cheers Josh:salut:
