Finally thanks to Jameshell we have a affordable fixed secondary passenger side tensioner. Beware big pictures. The tensioner literally took a minute to swap over the parts. I will also show how easy it is to swap stuff. This takes around 4 degrees of timing error off the passenger side intake camshaft. James did such a great job even down keeping the oiling groove that oils the chain. The solid steel piece is top notch.
Wanted to let you know I am picking up my new engine from the machine shop tomorrow, will have it back in the car pretty fast. Pretty exited to hear it run with all the changes we made to this engine with help from a lot of you guys on this forum. James(Cobra Engineering), Mike(rtusnake) and many guys like Tony and Ed for all the information you and others share..........Thank You!
Yea it looks like it to me to James, the tracking info is really weird so i'm just waiting on the next update. I'm still not in a rush, I just dropped the cams off to get drilled/tapped today.
I just got my tensioner update in the mail and it took me all of 2 minutes to change over the required components to the new piece. It looks really solid just like all of Jame's products. I'll put it on tomorrow and hopefully will be able to put the rest of the timing components on next weekend.
I am still waiting for good test results from the test mules out there.
I know they fit well but I would like to here back from some good dyno runs up in rpm.
Thanks to nebraska up and down weather. work keeps sending me out of state. Then when i was putting my o2 sensors in for the new pro efi i had a major glitch....I saw mesh in the o2 sensor hole...I had a flex joint failure. I got lucky and it was all together yet. So i had to wait for more parts. I guess i shouldnt of put that version of flex joint in pre turbo to help piping install.. so i took it out and put in a v-band. Pipe should be back on in a couple days and started up in a week or two.
after a couple weeks fighting things trying to figure out a couple of my starting issues the car finally runs. After going through wiring a couple times, the tune a bunch of times, and finally taking the injectors out to check them come to find out my injectors were stuck. 7 out of 8 were stuck the one that i happen to test on the rail wasnt stuck. Guess i didnt clean the e85 all the way out and a couple months of sitting stuck them. So far i just was idling it, holding rpm at levels, and blips of the throttle so far so good. no odd noises or oiling issues(still runs so far) .Im pulling valve covers off tomorrow or wednesday night (depending on how bad storms get). I have titan ics headgaskets and i need to retorque them. This will give me time to also check the tensioner for any visible issues. the wideband 02's from bank to bank is EXTREMELY close(literally .01-.02 diffrence it that at idle). Im not sure if it has anything to do with the tensioner but i thought it was interesting. - - - Updated - - - btw 11.0:1 compression is very very snappy.
Keith I am one, I have my motor together finally but waiting on a few parts to button up the tranny, clamps for exhaust and then I'll start tackling the oiling system. I don't expect to be done until September due to work unfortunately.
Thanks ya'll, while I won't be needing the part anytime soon I am actively collecting build parts for future use and waiting on Cob. Eng. to release them.
The other thread has results but so far two cars with 750whp and mine with 850whp works great with tensioner. Im going up over 1000whp soon after ignition upgrades and converter restall.
I'm at 930+ rwhp with mine installed so far, hoping to get to the track within the next few weeks...
