If this is really the true block to have? Where do I get one? What will it cost? I am shipping mine off this week to get done up. But if the 96-98 is really that bad, then I am going to make the swap.

Need help ASAP.

I hear soooo many different stories I just want to narrow it down to what is the BADDEST of the BAD!

Thanks.

There was/is a big thread comparing the Explorer/Mountaineer/Mach 1/'99-'01 Cobra/'96-'98 Cobra blocks against one another, mainly for supercharged applications (which I'm sure is what matters to you.... ;) )
Bottom line - some of the newer blocks APPEARED stronger, but were not (if I remember correctly.)

Do a search on the Corral & here - the thread was multiple pages & had TONS of great info/pics, The topic started as a question regarding the Mountaineer block (sold by KarKraft) strength for build-ups.

All I care is that mine will hold 1000 HP.

It's a 97 block,
97 crank
Low Comp. Pistons
Manley Rods
ARP
etc.

I just don't want to build another for a few months.

Thats all I care about.
