Default BMR tubular k-member/CHE k-member brace

Anyone have this combo? I'd assume the CHE kmember brace with engine torque limiters will fit but thought I'd ask--BMR does not appear to have anything similar to this yet. I have the BMR kmember with integrated engine mounts on order but am still worried about problems shifting at high rpm (which still may have been clutch related).

Yes it works, you will need to shorten the outside mounts on the CHE k-member brace by about 1.25" to make it work, otherwise it will hang too low with the BMR k-member. FYI though with a stock oil pan you will want to shorten the drain plug or you will have to drop the k-member brace to change your oil.

    Wow, that was quick!

I assume you mean the oil change is a problem with both the bmr tubular k-member AND CHE brace? I'm looking at this:

and don't see a problem but if BMR's a-arm brace is installed:

I can see your point if the CHE brace hangs the same way.

If you have a solution to this issue (CHE brace and oilpan) I'd like to discuss it --can PM me? Thanks a lot for the quick response.

Yes the oil change problem comes about when you have both the BMR K-member and CHE k-member brace.

The only real solution if you want both parts, without changing the oil pan, is to shorten the drain plug or have a new drain installed in the oil pan.

You wont need the torque limiters with that BMR unit, it the same one I have installed and while there is a little movement of the shifter
it in no way effects shifting. If we could just get a better transmission mount all the issues would go away.

    That's good to hear!

Looking at your mods, I see you have the lakewood front driveshaft loop. My BMR loop seems to interfere with the Hurst shifter--you had any problems with that Tri-ax hitting the loop?

He is dead on with what he said - that's exactly what I did on mine. Just cut off a bit on the mounting points and it fits great. Also order a Steeda magnetic drain plug, which is a bit shorter, and your oil changes will be no problem.

Also, my Tri-Ax does not interfere with my BMR loops at all.

I'll spend weather permitting March weekends with just the k-member installed, and if shifting is a problem at high rpm then get the CHE brace and the drain plug you recommend.

    Good stuff--thanks.
