Holy sticker shock batman!
48k sticker that is... need I send a picture? what gives? Yes it had the rapid spec, and it had adaptive cruise...
Still 51k?! out the door! REALLY?!
GAWD I was so trying to sell myself on that car, it was the metallic grey color super sleeper.
Any chance the dealer wouild drop about 15koff that and give me 0% for 7 years on my Xplan discount?! doh, sorry had to ask!!!
I'd have H&R springs and a tune on that thing within hours of it rolling off the lot LOL. Love the car when the arse isn't sticking up quite so much. I can't drive a Mustang anymore we have a love-hate relationship and a bad track record with the MI PoPo's, ahh well. I will keep sav'n my duckets. Off to buy a 31 foot boot for 7k bucks!!!! Great lakes rock!

I'd shoot myself before I paid near that for Taurus. I'd be rolling in a slightly used C6Z.

^That's the tricky part. Do not label this "the ole Taurus" because it's completely at the other end of the spectrum.
Different animal and completely different car. We just got one for my wife and it's by far the nicest car I've ever owned. Or probably ridden in. Drives perfect, silent inside the cabin, will beat 99% of the other Sedan's in its class, sneaky fast, handles great, great brakes, Volvo S80 stretched frame and widened, Volvo all wheel drive system, and plenty more lol. 5 Star crash ratings....
I don't know if I'd get one loaded for $50,000 but just saying these cars are really this nice. Fit and finish is perfect.
If my wife gave me the green light to do some serious mod's I could easily sell my Cobra and concentrate on this thing. Bet it would be pretty easy to get 11's out of it. (might take a year or two for some more mod's to come out but just saying)

Could you also seat 4 extremely comfortably and drive through 12" of snow in said "slightly used C6Z"? People buy cars for other reasons than pure performance.

I like the Taurus SHO but I personally couldn't justify paying 50 grand for a new one when I could pick up an '11 Mustang GT for 38 but it definitely is a car that I wouldn't mind waiting a few years for and buy a slightly used one

It is a bit pricey, but if you need a 4 door sedan, and you can find a good deal on one, it makes for an excellent sleeper. With just a tune, you can put one into 5.0 GT ET range. Not bad for a 4400# car with a v6.

I went through the same thing, when I was shopping for my DD. Needed to have 4-doors, awd (for the snow), an automatic (for the wife) and decent acceleration (for me). I really wanted the SHO but the price was too out of line. I almost went with a G37x, but chose an automatic wrx (called the Impreza GT). It was 10k less than the G37x, and 15k less than the SHO. It's no comparison in terms of luxury, and isn't as fast in stock form. But two simple mods (about $800) really woke it up. It ran 13.7 at 99mph at the dragstrip, and does 0-60 in 5 seconds. It has a quick spooling turbo with almost no lag, which makes it very fun to drive -especially from a stop. More importantly, with the money I saved I can justify a few more mods to the stang.

Now that they've been out for awhile you can pick them up for the low 30's well taken care of. I just traded mine in and that's what they sold it for. I also get Z Plan so my sticker was $45 and change but after discounts and plan, etc it was like $36k. You can get a great deal on a new one too with lots of options for high 30's low, low $40's and the car is worth it, super super nice.

I'm thinking maybe another year, I can find one for 20-25k, maybe a 2+ year old car would come down a bit. Then again, by that time or soon after there will be a Turbo Fusion awd car coming out, that could be an interesting pocket-rocket d.d., likely with a 6speed auto, or manual
I'm hoping for around 30k.+/- BTW, someone mentioned 2011 GT for 38, there are some at my local dealer for around 31k, not bad for the new 5.0 about the same price my 2001 Cobra was (atleast on the sticker), and definately equivalent or better performance for the buck.

Buddy just bought one and I don't understand why. He justified it by the ridiculous trade in and discounts he got through his company. I guess when its 15k cheaper with those its worth it

I've seen them go for the low 20's used. At that price, it's a steal.
