i never said weak did i? i said dumb ass 5.0. i will hold to my statement. ford should have just stuck the 6.2 in the mustang instead of the 5.0, cheaper, more efficient for the weight and it is really cost effective for both superduty and mustang. and ford should have just made a 5.8 for the F150 cuz quite honestly i miss my 5.4. my 2011 F150 5.0 just doesnt pull my boat like my 5.4 3V did. it would be real nice to have an engine for the mustang and/or F150 with atleast a bore size of 3.900 not 3.700, (3.900x3.550=348ci) i look at it this way the 3v and 4v heads only adressed the issue not fix it, these engines are still at a disadvantage! bores too small. there is no need for a 3v or 4v head. but its nice to have less cam lift with a 4v head and make more power than a 2v head, but this issue could have been avoided in the first place with bigger bores. simple as that. a motor will make more power and torque with a 3.900 bore than a engine from 3.700 from either a 2v 3v or a 4v head comparable, and still be more efficient remember the mustang weights in around 3.850lbs and it only has 305ci imagine that car with a 348 or a 6.2?

from what I hear the 6.2 is a hefty motor. very bulky, too. if the mustang were to use this "workhorse" engine, performance, especially handling would suffer. if you need more power, it is available with the 5.8 super charged engine, now at 650hp in the GT500, and shelby will make more if you want it. I believe the bore is now 93.5 or94mm I have seen it listed both ways. either way it comes out to around 3.7 inches with a stroke of 4.165. yeah, this is not ideal for a high revving motor, but honda motors with vtec rev like crazy with undersquare dimensions.

im aware of the new 5.8 motor but in reality how many people are going to be able to afford an overpriced GT500? (basically fords fault) in the real world the 5.0 is still at a disadvantage, ford should have just made a completely new motor with bigger bores for the mustang and F150. it would be nice to see N/A engines that make nice power and still be streetable but until ford rectifies this issue were going to see more supercharged and turboed mustangs yet again. yippee!! i never said anything about a high revving motor, i mean what good does it do if my engine makes power at high rpm and its only a street motor?

I hope you build an awesome 6.2L Boss! I'd like to see people push the envelope with this engine.

thanks. i already bought the short block and bare heads with timing chain cover for 4350. my 3 problems are 1. oil pan, 2. stand alone computer 3. intake man. me and my dad will be fabricating a manifold for the 6.2 that wont be the issue, but my serious problem is a computer.

Motec is your answer. It has provisions for VCT and the dual spark setup you are going to deal with. It also has provisions for up to 8 individual O2 sensors for each exhaust runner. I looked into it specifically for this swap and have been told the Paul's High Performance swapped car is running motec.

Size: 75.5 KBIt appears as if PHP actually used a Ford ecu somehow. It must have been someone else using the Motec system. All I know is when I eventually undertake this project, it will have a Motec or Bosch system in it.

Roomy enough that Ford should have put an aluminum 6.2 in the 2013 GT500.
