Destroked big bore 4.6

    Default Destroked big bore 4.6

    What do you guys think about doing a big bore 4.6 to make it a 5.0 but then de stroking it to get a better rod ratio what do you guys think. I would come out to just about 4.6 maybe 4.7 depending on how i bore the sleeves.

    It's not worth expense and will make less power than a big bore with a stock stroke.

    It's been done on a 5.4 big bore and the stroke was in between that of a 4.5 and a 5.4. It made 600rw n/a.

    I'm just about ready to crank my destroked 5.4 setup. Its in my 03 cobra. We did the destroked route for the rod ratio. But this has a 3.750" stroke and comes out to 299". Its got twin precision billet wheel 76's. I say go for it. I think the destroked idea is great.

    Hey guys i know its been months since i posted but as much as i want to sink into this car i figured i could get a used 2012-2013 and slap a blower on it. Still hope to do this project someday. O and shhakg how did your project turn out?

    Not worth it on the 4.6. Keep the stock stroke and 3.700 bore. We did the original 5.4 destroke, but we needed the ability to turn upwards of 10,000 rpm.
