Max boost on stock 1 bolt tensioner?

    Default Max boost on stock 1 bolt tensioner?

    What's the max boost you guys are seeing on a 2.6h 2v with the 1 bolt tensioner without bending or breaking it? I've ground off the travel stops on mine and on 20lbs at wot my tensioner is hitting my idler and destroying belts.

    I have a 2.1 KB with custom inlet and see 20psi at the track. I have a 1 bolt tensioner and 6 rib belt and have no problems. I run a 7.75 lower, 3in upper and shift at 6300rpm, thats 16,275 blower rpm. I run Napa/Gates belts and change them every year. Also I inspect the grooved pulleys, sometimes they get rubber buildup in the grooves, which can cause problems. I also run the shortest belt I can. I also swaped out my right side blower idler pulley for a 90mm for more belt wrap around the blower pulley. I don't understand how your tensioner hits the idler ?. Maybe a picture of your belt drive system will help.

    It's because there's no travel stop on the tensioner. So when it's all the way closed it touches mg idler. Im going to get a new tensioner and a 90mm idler. See if that helps. What length belt are you running? I've got the KB 7.5 lower and 3" upper.

    The part number for my belt is 25-061110. It was tight to get on. You want to run the shortest belt you can. Also adjust your idlers to get the most belt wrap around the blower pulley.
