I am looking at buying some used FOMPK cams. The specs on the cams are .556 lift with 228 dur @ .050 with 114 lobe seperation. What do ya'll think about these cams? Will I have to worry about piston to valve clearance with these cams?

I was told that these cams need to be shimmed. What are ya'lls opinion on shimming cams, good, bad?

I replied to you via email.These threads turn into pissing matches quickly.I gave you my experienced opinion.And the way I described is a direct bolt in and no shimming or lash caps to worry about.Those three company's are the route to go.

could you perhaps shoot a pm my way with some info on cams that don't need shimming from a regrind?
