    Default Open Loop at Idle

    Does anyone know how to keep the ECU in open loop just at idle, but go closed loop when off idle? With the long tube headers the oxygen sensors are taking minutes to come up to temperature. If the ECU drops into closed loop before the O2 sensors are ready the AFR will spike rich and die. Right now I have the time to closed loop based on ECT at 300 seconds and it's working, but I'm wondering if there is a better way.

    Not hard to tune the car to run in open loop all the time.
    Mine has been that way since 05.

    Agreed, but I don't need open loop all the time. I just want open loop when the car is stationary and idling. The oxygen sensors are taking minutes to warm up and in cold weather are actually cooling off during idle. The long tubes are really messing with them.

    Thank you I'll look at that. I also started tweaking the dashpot settings. So glad I kicked the tuner to the curb and tuned it myself.

    On my car there is a function called "Fuel Open Loop TP". It's RPM on the left and TP on the right.

    Set the TP to 0 and RPM to the point you want to go open loop at. When I played with this I had it set like this:

    Code:
    RPM       TP
    ==     ====
    5000      0
    4000    125
    3000    250
    2500    250
    800     250
    799       0
    So, at or below 799RPM the car will be in open loop since the TP is set to zero. As soon as you get over 799RPM it will go back into closed loop as long at your TP is below 250. Change this around to reflect your idle RPM and what you want.

    1997 Cobra will not go into closed loop, my tuner cannot fix it he gave me a base tune it starts and idles good but thats all. now i have this problem with the fuel pump power supply at 6.5 volts i changed the ccrm and now its at 8.3 I dont use the original fuel pump power source anymore since when this started i bypassed the ecu and ran power to the pumps and works fine but it will still not go into closed loop. should i get a new base tune and from who. its been like two years now and i am like almost at wits end. i am running a JT Trim 23lbs 675 at the wheels. and that was when i had the original heads on it now i have stg 3 heads from mmr and stg cams. i cant remember when the last time i got on it but it pulls forever and i just want to drive it. so any help would be appreciated.
