I am new to this engine and have a 2.9 whipple on it and noticed that it gets really very hot. I have never had a supercharger car before so I have no idea if its normal or not. It just seem strange that it gets this hot. The IC pump is working just fine too.
I am totally with that as compression results in heat I was just wondering if it should get that hot. I open the IC bottle and the liquid is just warm so that tells me that the air going in has been cooled down some.
Get a better heat exchanger. No telling what's on there with a Whipple kit. Some are fanned, some are not.
First, when the engine is running, can you see fluid moving in the right hand reservoir? If not either you have an air bubble in the line, the pump has failed or a fuse is popped for the pump.
IAT2 or downstream air temp should be NO more than 30f over ambient at cruise and extended idle.
If something has failed or needs upgraded I hope you will consider our VMP Triple Pass Dual Fan heat exchanger.
Call me if you need further tech assistance.
