    Default Need help on my 2v engine confusion.

    My 98 Gt has the original engine in it. Vin x which is Windsor engine, but it has the 8 bolt crank(used to be automatic), it has 11 bolt valve covers which if Iím not mistaking is Romeo heads. Iím wanting to get this p.i swap done, but Iím so confused at this point that I donít know what to get.

    8th VIN "X" means Windsor plant, 8 bolt crank(auto/stick) means Windsor but 11 bolts valve cover are Romeo... unless someone swap those heads at some point...

    Thatís what I was thinking. Iím going to do some more digging. What would your suggestion be as far as p.i swap? Go back windsor or find Romeo since I already have the valve covers and all.

    Why not go with trick flow heads? They are drilled to accept windsor and romeo valve covers.

    think about how much you will spend on swapping heads(total amount $ plus labor), sometimes its easier/cheaper to find a 4.6 DOHC(COBRA/MARAUDER/MARK VIII/AVIATOR) and swap it..... or go big and get a 5.4 DOHC from a Navigator.. either case they will bolt on on your setup with minor mods....
