    Default Whipple Belt Size Reference

OK, I see alot of Whipple belt size questions popping up so maybe we should start a thread on it, I'll start.

Stock Lower 3.5 upper, stock idlers- NAPA/Gates part # 080760
Stock Lower 3.0 upper, 4 piece BF idlers- NAPA/Gates part # 080774(probably could stand to be about 1/4"-3/8" shorter but was the closest I could find at NAPA)
3.50 upper, 2lb lower, stock alt pulley, 4 BF idlers, lower idler in upper position on bracket 080820
3.50 upper 4# Lower, stock idlers, 3.20 Alt pulley 79.7" Gates
    3.25 upper 6# lower whipple tensioner & 3.5 alt pulley # 080866
3.00 upper 6# lower, stock Alt pulley, 3 BF idlers (no snub), lower idler upper position 080810 (tight fit could be a little bigger)
3.00 upper 6# lower, stock Alt pulley, 4 BF idlers, lower idler upper position, 080825

Thanks man, I've been trying to track down the size I'll need for my 3.00 upper, stock lower, and BF 4-Idler set. The Gates#080774... is that 77.4"?

I was told to get 76.5 gates for
the 3.0 upper and 4 pic BF idler with new snub bracket.

I ordered it will come in WED......I guess I will see then.......

I was told this combo by 2 people that have on their Car.

Let us know if it fits, I had a 76" belt laying around and it wasn't even close with the same set up , I could go a little shorter, but a 76.5 would not fit on my car unless i broke off the tensioner tab. I think a 77 1/2 would be perfect.

Thanks, I added this to my original post. Once I get some more interest/info I'll make a spreadsheet and post it up.

OK, I finally found a belt so I will post up here.

    Setup

    new whipple.
    3.5 upper / 4lb lower.
all BF idlers with new style snub.
    3.2 alt. pulley
    stock notched tensioner

    84 3/8............

I forgot the Gates # so I will post that up later. Took me awile to get the right fit. This size does not seem to go along with what others have for similar setups but it seems to be perfect on mine.

Which position do you have the lower idler in? I think there 2 places to put the idler depending on what lower you have? That could be the difference I believe.

Probably the upper position if he is using a longer belt than others have used with the same setup.
