Hey,
You all seem to help each other out, here is my situation.
My wife has an 86 Mustang LX convertible 3.8V6 3 spd auto.
We want to upgrade a decade with a 96 4.6V8 and 4 spd auto.
I'm having trouble finding a good how to article or a swap kit.
You all seem to have experience with this sort of swap.
How much work is involved?
I mean is there alot of cutting and welding or will off the shelf parts do the trick?
How about suspension, I hear the 4.6 is heavier than the 5.0, what are good springs to use?
Later,

This is not a bad swap. There is an abundance of aftermarket parts to assist. No cutting of the car is necessary.
The most major steps of the swap are modding the braking system which involves either a manual brake or hydra boost conversion, the installation of a K-member and the wiring of the engine controls.
The V8 fox springs are fine on the front, Even the 4 cyl springs are ok. The SN95 springs sat the car way to high.
