Borla Stinger vs Flowmaster Cat-Back

Yesterday I swapped from a Flowmaster cat-back to a Borla Stinger cat-back on my 07 GT. The car already had Borla SS long tubes and a Borla off-road X Pipe.

The result was a much deeper and aggressive sound. I made a before and after video with sound that I thought others may be interested in if they are evaluating cat-backs.

Before (Flowmaster):

Wow! are you those flowmaster raspy or what ! you defitnetly have me thinking about the stingers!...
I have the stingers on my '06 and I love them. They have a great sound to them I would recomend them to anyone.
nice, my friend recently went from OEM mufflers to borla stingers, they sound pretty good. Not nearly as loud as my borla stinger catback but a very nice improvment overall.
sounds really good. i wish i could afford your set up

Your best bet is to find a set of used long tubes in decent condition and just buy another set of header gaskets/locking bolts and you can have that setup cheap. I got my headers and off-road x pipe for 500 shipped from a member on here.
I f'ed up! I had FRPP/Stingers on with ARH LTs and O/R H, and got tired of the trumpeting at 2500rpms. Put some Magnaflows on yesterday, and the car sounds like stock. I'm going back to the FRPP/Stingers. Your video makes me miss mine.
I love my raspy ass Flowmasters with the FRPP x pipe and Hooker haeders but thats JMO .
Eh, I'm done with the rattlemasters. I had the flows for a long time, then picked up Kooks catted headers and didn't like the sound of the flows. So picked up Stingers and loved the sound. Put the flows back on for the hell of it and after a couple of weeks the drivers side one broke something inside and rattles like hell (well known issue with these mufflers). Stingers are back on and staying on.

How old were the Flowmasters the reson I ask is the first set I bought in mid 06 did that as well but the set I have now that they replaced them with clearly has extra welding you can see from the outside thatthese have extra braceing that the originals did not and have held up very well so far .

Little over two years old, and driven about 1 year out of that.
