hello all, i just bought a 2004 FX4 with - what i consider to be - the dreaded VVT 3-valve motor. it really wasn't my first choice as i prefer the simplicity of the modular 2-valves and 4-valves. i don't even know what the hell a cam phaser soleniod is lol. but i am looking forward to learning and eventually pulling the engine out of there for an overhaul.
anyway, i am excited about the truck itself... it's really well equipped and has the 4-wheel drive which is something i have never had in a vehicle before. my other f150 stx is more of a base stripped down model. but it does have the 4.6 2-valve which has been very reliable.
