I have an aluminum block part# 3L2Z-6010-AA I can't figure out what the opening in front does. In this picture it's the hole on the left hand side.



This is a better picture of it.



It runs through the entire block.



Now this doesn't exist on the GT iron block, and I've never seen a Cobra block.

Hmmm.... Just looking at it, seeing as how the mod motors are deep skirted blocks. I would hazard a guess that its a vent allowing the different sections of the crankcase to equalize pressure.

Thats just my best guess :confused:

Or maybe its a drain for the timing chains :confused:

Or maybe both :confused:
