I'm planning on doing a solid swap into my 04 Cobra and was wondering if there's any issue between diffs and c clip or non c clip axles. I'm pretty much set on the idea of using an 02 gt rear, with 31 spline c clip axles, and a Detroit tru-trac differential, any problems with that? I'm just curious how you can get to the c clips with those aftermarket diffs, seems like you wouldn't have access to remove or install the clips?? Please tell me I'm wrong and that I can use any axle with any diff. as long as the splines are the same!

That works there is a opening to get to the axle spacer/pin. On my old detroit unit has a plug and retaining ring. Google "tru-trac manual" its the pdf second or third down I'd link it but tapatalk kinda sucks. Its on the bottom of page two. I have been running that set up for years no issues I like this diff a lot.
P.S. Use 80-90 dino oil if you get one. Eaton doesn't explicitly specify a weight but this seems to be the consensus on bobistheoilguy.com.

I'm not a track guy so not too sure about how it performs. I can however tell you that it has great street manner and def. seems to make the car lunch straighter than with my trac-loc. I also feel it handles the power being applied out of a corner better but this is kinda subjective on the street. Hopefully some one with some more track experience can give you some information about that. From what I hear though there are very strong, I have about 100k worth of dd and weekend beatings on mine still like new. The moser wave-trac has been getting a lot of good reviews as well might look into that,more expensive though.

axle retainment hardware will be your friend if you ever break an axle. I would look into that. Other than that looks good.
