Looked at mine last night and the same thing. Here's what I'm doing. I have a pair of leather work gloves with the same color leather. I cut the fingers out and made little covers. I'll fit them on tonight and let you know how they work out.

thats a band-aid Rick

IMHO everyone should cut that F***er down..... the only reason its that long is so it's easier for the monkey at the factory to put it together.

Plus it shaves a bit of weight,,,, and thats a good thing!

Thanks Marlon...... I went out and checked mine too..just like yours...my quick fix was a piece of 5/16 rubber hose cut and put over the threads.

Not to worry. Just checked both Cobras. The '99 is the same way and..............no damage to the seat with over 45,000 miles on the car and........with my fat ass in the drivers seat for virtually every one of them..................Don

I bought some rubber screw covers from Lowes for less than a buck. Did the trick. Maybe nothing would have happened, but I don't like that metal rubbing against the leather seats. Thanks for the heads up.
