So I'm about to have a cobra engine installed w/ supercharger. As most of you know, I have a GT. Will this Motor fit with my stock hood? I really prefer to use my stock hood.

I'm a bit unsure about an aftermarket K member (I was looking for a used built gt engine, and ended up with a cobra complete engine and trans! Too much money!), but will K-Member help lower engine?

Im really trying not to change my hood. What will I need to do to make this fit?

Any advice would greatly be appreciated.

Will the hood fit = NO

Will the K-Member drop the engine = normal setup - NO

You can get a custom K that will move the motor mounts down. This will help you, but I dont know if it will be enough. I know that most of the time the engine is lowered, they end up changing the engine to a dry sump system. You would have to do that to lower it enough, and that setup isnt exactly cheap.

If you want this in your car, I think it is time to start thinking about a new hood.

Im better off w new hood then. Sounds cheaper and safer.

Will Cobra hood fit my car as is? I dont think it can. If not, what will I have to get so this can work?

Anyone know if Saleen hood would fit w my set up?

I really was hoping to use a GT hood.

The cobra hood should fit.....I say SHOULD. The engine mounts are the same between the cobra and GT, the hood is a bit different. That is why you have to mount the cobra front bumper cover a bit different to fit right with the GT hood, but the cobra hood fits it fine.

I would just sugguest a 2.5 or 3.5" cowl hood. I think they look 100x better and cleaner than the GT hood. This is my Cervinis 3.5" 95 Cobra R hood. This is what I am using with my Tork Tech Whipple 2.9. If it will clear that, it will clear anything a cobra has.

I was thinking of going fiberglass, but this car is used everyday, so maybe not. Then again, the one part of my car without a scratch is my hood...

I found a few deals on Mach 1 Hoods (without scoop). Anyone know if this will fit? Thanks all!
