For those that were not there, this was taken at Capitol Raceway opening day16 MAR 03. There were about 3-4 other 03 cobras there. They were modded with chip/pulley ect... I didnt see them even getting into the 12's they were all in the 13's. Although I didnt see every race, I may have missed a race where they did hit 12's. MY car is stock (including tires) except for straitpipes. THIS WAS MY FIRST TIME AT A TRACK.

3 runs
Run1 Run 2 Run3
R/T .983 1.103 .957
60' 2.379 2.291 2.041
330 5.99 5.835 5.530
1/8 8.832 8.649 8.325
MPH 87.39 87.91 88.34
1000 11.230 11.043 10.709
1/4 13.353 13.076 12.807
MPH 101.87 111.82 108.23

Summary(Note: I had no wheel hop any of the runs.)
Race 1: Virtually no heating of the tires and I got no traction at launch. I spun tires all 1st and into 2nd. Horrible run.
Race2: Good heating of the tires but I totally chickened out after the first run and didnt drop the clutch. I just started accelerating from idle. I did not even spin tires at launch. NOTE the MPH in this race.
Race 3: Good heating of the tires and a great launch. dropped the clutch at 2500rpm. It stuck like glue. It was one hard launch. The bad news I missed 4th gear. I would have been in 12.6-12.7 range if i didnt. Notice the low MPH.

I only got one run in. And because the dumbass in front of me did something stupid they stopped the runs for a couple minutes. Naturally, I shut off my car and OF COURSE, after I turn it back on -> I FORGOT TO TAKE OFF TRACTION CONTROL. POS defaults to on GRRRR

Well duh.

Though the time is QUITE EMBARRASSING I did manage a 13.327 @ 111.56 with a .724 R/T and a 2.24 60'. all this with traction control kicking in on the launch, 1st to 2nd, 2nd - 3rd shifts. As soon as I felt the sputter on the 1 - 2 shift I yelled some ugly words because I knew what had happened.

Anyway, first time ever running the car. That track sucks @$$ so I only got 1 run in.

My car is mostly stock. CAI, off road H-pipe and MAC cat-back. No pulley, no chip. That comes next week!

I don't know what the deal is with the guy in the silver '03. How hard is it to NOT floor it on the launch and let out when they start to spin?! I swear he banged through 1 - 4 in the first 60 feet. WTF.

BTW: I believe there were 4 '03 there.

2 Redfires (ours), 1 Silver, and 1 True Blue. The True Blue did run a 12.7xx

Probably harder than leaving TC on and blaming it on someone else :)

It must have been the other silver then because I met him and he certainly didn't run a 12.7 :)

And I didn't blame anyone ;)

I thought it was the Blue one that ran the 12.7xx. So it was you!

What are your mods?

OH, and according to the other guy, he has a 2.8 pulley, chip, CAI and some other stuff. Even though he annhiliated the tires through the first 4 gears he was able to get a really good mph.

Are you referring to Sonic Blue? Man, I would have jumped all over a TRUE BLUE 03. Ford should have keeped that color.
