Guys,
I have a 03 Mach 1 with a 01 cobra engine(bought it with blown motor).Cobra engine has 29k miles on it and the only mod is the previous owner sent the intake out to have it ported and polished. I'm going to put a Vortech v3sci supercharger on it. I've read a lot of posts(other sites) that say you should opt for the baffled fuel tank just for insurance(lean out) while others had said that just keep the tank 1/2 full and you're ok. Car will see very limited track use. Also, are the 03-04 cobra tanks compatible with the 03-04 Mach 1 as far as plumbing, electrical, and connectors? All info info and advice is welcome. I can't afford to do this twice. Thanks, Mike

The advice you are getting from wherever it is coming from is not what it should be. Let me give you an example;

If you are putting new wheels on your car and someone tells you that you can just mount the rims and don't worry about the tires because the rims are CNC machined and are perfectly round and a molded rubber tire is not, you would think he was daft and ignore the advice. The same thing with your furl tank advice source. You should ignore it/him/her!

Fuel tanks need to be baffled, period! The 03 Cobra tank will fit right in an 03 Mach 1. You should do some research because you might discover the 03 Cobra tank is the same tank that the 03 Mach 1 uses — I don't know that for a fact so check.

Before you get too far down the modification path you should get Ford's Wiring Diagrams manual for the 2003 Mustang. It has both the MACH 1 and Cobra wiring diagrams which are similar but importantly not the same. The book is published by Helms and it is The Bible on those two cars. If it is out of print, it has been 20 years, look online. eBay usually has a pretty good selection of the Helms manuals.
