Hey folks, I can't seem to get a straight answer from anyone who has changed their gears from the stock 3.27's to 3.73's or 4.10's. I have a 2003 Gt Covertible, 5 speed, Laser Red. I still have the stock 3.27's and want to know how much faster to 100 MPH the 3.73's and 4.10's will be. Right now I hit 100 at around 14.2 sec. Thanks for the help. Sorry if this topic has been beaten to death, but I am new to the forum.

You will never get an accurate answer to this because of the differences in weather, track conditions, driver abilities, weight, etc... If your going to make this a snake eater, ie: 500+ HP, then go 3.73's. If your gonna stay N/A, or even 100 shot, 4.10's may be your best choice. It all depends oin what you wanna do. Hell, you can always change gears again later on if you want. Go for the 4.30's and downsize them later on. :D

Maybe this will help u a bit, on a stock 02 GT with 1000 miles on the car, I ran a 14.6, switched to 373s and ran a 14.1, so it sems like it took off abot .5 sec, not bad for $400 if you ask me.:blob

Thats a good way to explain it. with 4.10's he could have probably ran a 13.9
I bet he would, one of my buddys has an 02 GT with TB, catback, x pipe and 410s ran a 13.5 at 104mph not 100% sure on the mph, but i know he ran a 13.5 was getting 14s with 327s

Gears are over rated :p j/k

As stanggt00 said, if n/a or small nitrous shot 4.10s, if you plan to make a lot of power in the furture 3.73s.

Just a little food for thought tho, it doesn't nessacierly take gears to run 13s. With pulleys, jms chip, x-pipe, bolra muffs/dumps, and cai. I run [email protected] on street tires with my 02.

I like the 3.73's myself, good all around gear. Good at the track and good milage for the commute. I did like the 4.10's in my 79 camaro, nothin like 4th gear chirps with only 300HP.:D

I can vouch for those numbers. I was at Gainsville and saw your car run. Nice times.
