How does the procharger intake paired with a stock terminator lower with or without the intercooler compare to an 01 cobra intake? any other considerations like fuel rail combatibility, intake tubing? Thanks in advance.
Good point. Maybe the distribution isn't a problem when it's pressurized?wondering the same thing and also wondering if the Mach1 flows better then an 01 cobra intake. I would think the 03 cobra/procharger conbo would not be a good idea because your dumping air into a box and there is not equal distrubition to the motor because there are no runners.
Oh the Procharger intake that comes with the procharger kit for these cars is just an upper intake that attaches to the factory cobra lower intake. still not sure how that compares to an 01 cobra intake setup thoughnot sure that is possible since it works for procharger and I guess the same for us only with the intercooler there. I would just think an intake with runners to each cylinder would be more efficient. Can you buy just the upper plenum from procharger? How much for that thing?
I'd like to get up to the 900rwhp. So it sounds like the procharger intake should actually make more peak power than the cobra intake because of the short runners? It's more of a street car so I guess I'll have to see how it feels with the procharger intake. It's an automatic with a converter that flashes up to around 3200 or so. previous owner of the turbo kit said he would see max boost as soon as 3800, so it should get to that area pretty quickly. what do you think? What kind of power are you looking to make? Manual trans?
The Procharger/factory lower will have almost no runner length. This will kill low/midrange power. The '01 is good but will choke power at 700-800rwhp unless modified/ported.
Yea might be a little tight. Was even a little tight with the whipple on there, I think I would have benefited at the track and even on the street with a slightly looser converter, although the lockup converter feature is pretty useful from a roll to eliminate any power loss through the converter on the highway. Probably won't need the lockup with the turbo though since I'll want it to flash to make boost right away. Something like a 4000 converter would probably be very effective. Right now I have a 3.4 whipple on it but I have a turbo kit coming in the mail this week...hope I like it better! The Procharger intake will definitely make more PEAK power. The auto will help though. I'm not an expert on autos but have been studying them lately. That converter sounds pretty tight. It's hard to say how that will work with the Procharger intake but most likely will have to be looser. Is the '01 intake on it now?
