Approximately 1 month ago i dynoed my car for the first time with the Kenne Bell blower. I posted the results here with great enthusiasm..my final pull being 556rwhp @ 17psi w/o nitrous. However, my enjoyment became bewilderment upon hearing others attaining much higher rwhp (50-55 more) at the same boost level as myself. My car suddenly became impotent. I began to wonder why and how. Where did all power go? I've heard sometimes certain cars being freaks of nature within the production line..so was mine the runt of the litter?

Fast forward to April 15th. Exactly 1 month later. I was on my way to Pete's shop with Matt to have a Diablosport flip chip and JLP intake installed. I was watching Pete work on Matt's car. After Pete installed Matt's upper pulley..Matt kept looking at my engine and his. I asked him what's wrong? Matt said..your pulley is bigger than mine. I said no way, you're running 15psi. He said no man your pulley is bigger. We asked Pete..he looked at it..grabbed a tape measure..then took a pulley size chart and smiled. BAM! All this time i had been running around with guess how much boost? 13psi. I made 556rwhp on 13psi..the perils of not having these pulleys stamped with sizes. Pete burned my flip chip and now..NOW i can break my tires loose in 4th gear just like i've been hearing others reporting. It's like my car just woke up and said, HERE I COME, LIKE IT OR NOT. Matt..thx bro, your eyesight was viagra for my car lol. Pete..thx for treating my car as if it was your own. Much respect to u. Now we gonna go get some power with your tune.

As for efficiency..driving the 150 miles to Pete's shop used to take over 3/4 of my fuel on the Eaton blower. Driving the same distance to Pete only uses about 1/2 tank. Having a great blower and a great tuner....makes for a great combo. Have a safe Holiday Sunday.

Damn X, I know it wasn't funny while you were in the dark, but the outcome is funny and good. After looking at all the information on the Kenne Bell, how can one not want one. You're running 13lbs of boost, getting better gas milage, running 50 degrees cooler(a guess) and getting 100hp more than me running the same boost on the Eaton. Whats not to love!!!

Yup,. Pete is right Franco, i think i still need just alittle more boost :)

17psi is great, but nothing wrong w/ just alittle more. There are a lot of chevys out there that i need to take care :)

I can't get over how FLAT that torque curve is up to the hiccup at 5600rpm. These motors are ridiculous and I wish mine put out like yours.

Was the ragged stuff up top due to spark blow out or loss of traction on the dyno?

You're right 03snake..i'm having a good time laughing now. I know not every car is going to be equal but i had set expectations..thankfully they've been realized now. I will say i love the gas mileage..just gotta make sure i stay outta boost!

Haha..yeah Pete..ppl in general say modding this car is addictive, but talking to u about u making these cars go faster is even more addictive! :shocked SEE U ON SATURDAY.

Matt..u won't have any trouble handing any Chebby their badges.

mosconiac, i had stock plugs when i ran the KB blower..MY BAD! I'm running Denso now on Pete's recommendation..muuuuuuuuuuuuuuuch better :jawdrop

dspiel..c'mon man, u know u want to sell that Camaro u have ;)

Good grief.. you WERE running the same boost as me and you are almost 100rwhp more.. I was SAE, yours STD. BUT STILL! This makes it... very hard.... to... keep.. resisting... ugh!

Did you change the injectors?

He has 55lb Inj. I like to tune the blower at that boost level with 55lbs , they work great. nitro
