Hey Rick,
Qwik question. What type of gaskets do you use with
the Kooks long tubes 1 5/8 for the 03 Cobras?
Do you use anything on the header bolts to
keep them tight?
Installed mine last week, having a heck of a time
chasing down leaks. #3 on the drivers side is next to
impossible to get to. Small leak on the drivers side
collector too, where the tubes go into the collector,
once bolted up all 4 tubes didn't line up "length wise".
Any suggestions would greatly be appreciated.
Before the long tubes and hi-flow cats w/h-pipe
I dynoed 438rwhp and 461tq through stock logs
and cats, 2.5 cat back 3.0 pulley, CAI and chip.
I want to get the leaks fixed for another dyno run
and my sanity
Thanks.

Did you check the header flange surfaces? Mine had runs in the coating which I filed off smooth before I installed the headers. I also left them just a bit loose so they would move a little until the collectors were on. I had to do a little persuading with a rubber mallet to get all the tubes seated in the collectors correctly. I also ended up jacking the motor up about an inch so I could get at #3 on the drivers side. I recommend installing a heat shield on the starter since it is impossible to remove with out removing #3 & 4 tubes. Not an easy job, but very rewarding once it's done. Good luck!
