Sorry if this has been posted a million times before, but I just got my 03 and just joined this board. I've tried a search for stock times, but haven't come up with anything. Just looking for what you guys have run totally stock, so I have a baseline (Just turned over 400 miles, waiting for 1000 before hitting Englishtown!!) Also if you could include any tips for getting the best time with this car. Thanks everyone...

My best stock, when it was literally 95 degrees, 12.7 @110.22.

I think if I kept it stock untill the fall I could have got a 12.50 or maybe even a .40.

If you can launch it, you can run good times. The power is there to easily run in the 12's if you can get out of the hole. The power is there to get the good 60' too. It's all in the driver being able to pull a good launch.

I ran a 12.80 @ 111mph the day I picked my car up. It had 142 miles on it when I made the pass the car was not cooled down and it was 90+. With a 2.1 60ft. Not bad then I went straight for mods, didn't wait till fall. I'm with JT a 12.4 to 12.5 in good air, maybe a 12.3 with some traction.

how the hell are you guys running 12.8s @ 111 mph with worse 60 foots than mine?

My car has been broken in, Im cutting better 60 foot times, yet Im seeing 12.98s @ 108-109mph...

Florida Humidity + Heat must be holding me down

It could definately be the humidty. Have you had the car dynoed? There are variances in the cars, its possible your car is making less power. I've seen some 03s dyno as low as 340 RWHP.

I have been keepin' a log of my ET's and MPH, along with 60' times since I started racin' my 03 Cobra, after it had 2500 miles on it. I keep info showing what mods were done before each run. Bone stock (with the F-1s, factory air cleaner, and exhaust), I made two passes at Houston Raceway Park and ran 12.89 @ 109.88 w/ 2.06 for 60', and 12.83 @ 110.03 w/ 2.03 for 60'.
I won't even try to guess what the car "could" do, 'cause I then started making a few mods at a time. Adding power (429 HP, and 455Ft/lbs), my 60' times went up even as I was able to get to 12.5 on the F-1's. My best 2 mods show to have been Nitto 315's (on the stock 9" wheels), which put me to 12.08 @ 117.53 w/ 1.9 60', and then a Hurst Line Loc which has allowed a 11.871 @ 117.89 w/ best 60' of 1.77.

I went 12.70 @ 110 w/ 1.97 60ft a week after I bought the car. 4xx miles on it. It dyno'ed 366 rwhp & 370 tqe that same day.

Modded the following week.

Traction will make the mph drop. The air in Maryland in the summer is just as humid as Florida.

I took my car to Sacramento Raceway whem I only had 750 miles on the Odometer. It was really good weather, but track prep was really bad. I ran consistant 2.2 60 fts at a consistant 13.2 sec 1/4 mile ET. I was seeing lots of boost dump in the 3-4 shift. I had the boost dump solenoid still hooked up along with everything else completely stock, didn't even deflate the rear tires and had the spare tire still in the trunk.

Excuse list: Car wasn't broken in, track was wet and horrible and couldn't hook for shit (2.3 - 2.5 60'), 95 degrees and 100% humidity, granny shifted.

Gonna try again when it cools off, with exhaust and CAI.

Took my car out one time this year. We had to spend some time to get "aquainted" with each other and I still had clutch problems. I don't have my time slip for the MPH, but my best time was 13.04. It was hot and nasty! I know it is capable of mid upper 12s if I can get my stuff together.

Sorry guys, got to the track twice in the fall, just didn't post. First time was at Etown, slippery as hell. Not even gonna bother posting those times. Second time was at Island dragway, a lot better. Best was a 13.13 @ 109.35 with a 2.18 60' time. Not too bad (I think!), I know I can hit 12.8's next spring.

I doubt that... It was 92% humidity when I ran.

LOL, you think Florida is the only place with humidty? You need to travel around this great country during summer once. We get 90%+ humidity for weeks on end in Cincinnati during summer.

I'd say it's your driving. There is a good .5 between shifting it like most do, and the way it can be done. Think about how long a shift takes, you can lose 5 tenths of a second very easily over three shifts. The MPH is down too, because you are just coasting during that extra .5 seconds of shifting instead of accelerating at full throttle.

I shift pretty good, but I know there are many tenths left in my car, if I can just shift faster.
