Guys,

I am getting ready to replace my stock headlight and foglight bulbs with sylvania Silver Star bulbs. The headlights are simple 9007 swaps. My question concerns the foglight bulbs, I've read people replacing the stock bulbs with 9005 bulbs(65 watts I believe), those bulbs are high beam bulbs for 4 headlight systems. I've read where people are saying you should not go above 55 watt bulbs, which would be in line with 9006 bulbs(55 watts I believe) which is a low beam bulb in a 4 headlight system, both bulbs have the same connections and instalation tabs. I'm wondering if anyone who has used the 9005 bulb is having any heat related issues (melting lenses, wires or blown fuses). Also does anyone know what the stock foglight bulb wattage is? Thanks for any help.

The stock bulb is actually a 9145 bulb and is rated at 42 watts... I have run a 65 watt 9005 bulb for the past several months without any problems....
