I had to disconnect the steering knuckle on my car when I put the headers on earlier this year. While it was disconnected I let the wheel spin all the way to the hard left turn position (I forgot to lock the wheel before I disconnected the knuckle).
Once everything was back together, the wheel is now about 15 degrees off to the left when driving straight. The car tracks fine when you let go of the wheel but if you straighten out the steering wheel the car goes waaaay to the right.
I found in the manuals that letting the wheel rotate freely while disconnected will mess up the clockspring. I found the procedure to reset the clockspring but am looking for opinions on whether or not this could be my problem before I remove the airbag, etc.
Thanks!
