I hate to say it but I don't think it would be a good idea. I know this stuff is expensive and everyone wants cams for the cool factor and the extra horsepower. I don't think I would ever even attempt reground cams with stock springs, due to the extra lift and the change in the base circle. You would at least more than likely need to use shims to offset the change in the base circle.

Now billet cams could be a possibility as long as they don't have much more lift over stock.

I don't know if anyone has tried this (stock springs/billet cams) but I am sure someone will chime in with more technical info because I am by no means an expert.

Good luck,
Ashley

I checked my springs on my '01 heads, and they're pretty marginal at .450 lift. Try some SHM road race cams. They have low lift (.390), and boost power where you need it...in the midrange.
