I am going to buy the new 10th anniversary cobra wheels for my gt. Im going with the 17x9 and 17x10.5. Heres what I want some opinions on. For tires ive got 245-45 for front and 275-40-17 for rear. I know the rear tire is will fit but wont fill like a 315 and I got a really good deal on the tires. So I am wondering if it will be ok and wont look bad with the 275s until these tires get worn than ill go to the 315s. I was looking at my buddys mach with 17x10.5 bullets and it has 275s on the rear it was bought that way and I think it looks good but have never seen a 315 in person to do an honest comparsion. Any input is appericated.

Thanks
Matt

I run a 275/40-17 on a 9 inch wheel and it is perfect,I think the 275 will be a little small for a 10.5 wide wheel.

A 275 is way too narrow for a 10.5 rim. A 10.5" rim is designed for a 295/35 or 315/35. 275/35 fits perfect on a 9" rim. I run 9" rims all around. 255/35 front, 275/35 rear (18")

i run 275-45-17's on my 9inch front wheels and 315-35-17's on my 10.5 rears. 275's would be too narrow and not look right tirerack.com sells summitomo 315's for like 85 a piece.

Well I did some more checking with these wheels on late model restoration and found a complete kit 17x9 and 17x10.5 with sumitomo tires with 275-40 and 315-35s mounted and balanced and its only 40 more than if I ordered them seperate like I was planning. After thinking about it im just gonna order them complete because it will cost at least 40 to have them mounted and balanced with chance of having the rim messed up so I will just cut the middle man. Thanks for the input.

Thanks
Matt
