I have over 16k miles on the stock F1's and I am going to need tires soon. What does everyone suggest as the best replacement tire?

I only want 275/40s so I wont have fitment problems...

There has to be something better than the F1's for the price if not cheaper... F1's on discounttiredirect.com are going for $238.00 each...

Thanks...

The Eagle F1 GS-3D's seem to be a well reviewed tire even though I am very leary about buying goodyear tires.

Why are you leary to buy Goodyear?

I think the stock F1s are a pretty good tire... I think you just have to get used to the to like them...

I have never really liked the goodyear tires that have come on any vehicle ive owned and it always seemed there was a better tire for the money when it came time for new ones. At tire rack they have a pretty extensive rating system and readers reviews, the GS-3D's ranked the highest and I think were on sale as well.

They are my choice. I have 20k on my tires now. Once these die, I will be getting the ds3s.

I don't like Goodyear also I have never had a good experience with them. The F1s were fine while they were virgin, but after that they suck. I have Nitto 555R 315s on mine car and plan on replacing them with the same.

Along with personal preference, I think it really depends on what type of driving you plan to do. I had 2k mi on my F1s and switched to Nitto 555R 315s also. Big difference, ride well and fit my driving style.

I know I stated that I want to stick with the stock tire size, but...

There wouldnt be any problem going with a 285/40 would there?

The reason that i ask is that it is wider for one over the 275 and it is $14.00ea cheaper at discounttiredirect.com...
