Well I just got my Pantera back from Murillo Motorsports. He did my exhaust installation and dyno tune. Here is the data.

Internally Stock 2001 Lincoln Navigator 5.4 DOHC engine

Kinsler Individual runner manifold w/ 2 3/16" diameter throttle bodies and 7" long stacks

Wilkinson 4.6 conversion mid length headers into FAZA exhaust w/ 1 7/8" pipes.

Dyno results are 290 rwhp 330 rwtq

So that is about 330 hp and 380 tq at the flywheel.

That is pretty good for a basically stock engine.

Yes, but 290 was at the wheels he stated. 300 is measured at the flywheel, you must calculate about 15% drivetrain loss. His 5.4 is putting out roughly 20, give or take a few ponies over stock. Any pics of the Pantera?
Also, my tuner says I am leaving a lot of power on the table by using the small diameter exhaust. Maybe later on I will go with a bigger exhaust and rebuild the motor for performance but for right now I am extremely happy.

Oh i see, that makes sense, so really that is pretty good power for that combo. How does it feel when you drive it? stronger than the old Cleveland?
It is a lot stronger than the Cleveland the biggest difference is how smooth the 5.4 accelerates.

I have been talking to the other Pantera guys and they tell me the ZF transaxle eats more hp than usual rear wheel drive configured cars. They say typical hp loss is 20 - 25 %

So I guess I am at 350 -360 flywheel hp and 390 - 400 flywheel torque.

This just gets better!

I've seen pics of your car and I love it. Great conversion. I love the intake system. What is the throttle response like with that setup? That should be a killer combo in the Pantera. Congrats.

Congatulations!!! :beerchug: :beerchug: :beerchug:
I've been following your project and I must say ........ NICE JOB!!!!
I'll bet the seat of the pants feel of that little "WILD THANG" must be awesome!!!
I hope you've got a decent sized tire on there that is semi/sticky.... cause I'm sure your going to need it!.....Even with a mid engine lay out!

I'm sure I'll bet that torque really gets it done!!!

My wife's 99 32v Navigator pulls pretty good off a light ..... for a HEAVY BARGE!!!
I'm sure the stock 3.73 gears are helping the weight issue though....

I was wondering what the final drive was on a Pantera..... It's been a long time since I've talked to anyone about them.

That Kinsler set up is..................... :worthy:

BTW Very tastefully done work up....... 1st Class !!!!!!

Thanks for the kind words.

The Pantera's final drive is 4.22 and the off the line torque is amazing. The only problem using the stock navi engine is the cams, they run out of air really quickly. I pulled the stock engine a couple of months ago and am having it rebuilt with a forged 11:1 bottom end and p&p heads with crower stage 3 cams or FR500 cams. I am looking for at least 400 at the wheels the stock navi gave me 290 at the wheels. I am also looking forward to reving this engine to 7k rpm.

The crower stage three's are killer.... that should do it for you.
Us Terminator guys have the Navi intake cams too.... that plus the roots blower = big block low end!!!

Make sure your piston to valve clearances are ok..... then go for it!!!
I'll be "watching" :beerchug:

Wow 4.22 to 1 ............. You are going to be buying some tires my friend!!!! Mid engine or not!!!!
HOLY CRAP!!!!

I haven't added any new ones since January though. I will have to update it soon.
Very nice project. Where did you get the little filter/covers for the stacks? I'd sure like to have some of those in 4".

Love it!! Classic car with a modern motor;)
That's awesome enjoy it!!!
The Pantera has always gives me fond memories.... When I was about 12-13yo a guy down the street from me (Steve an avid drag racer, they wrenched on his Mopar deep into the night constantly) had one that was fairly modified. He took me for a ride up a Pittsburgh hill (Tantor Ave. Dave King knows it, it's steep) from 0-almost 100 and I was amazed at how it pulled. I was already really into cars but that hooked me to speed!

Them some mighty fine numbers there! I'd forcefeed that engine somehow.

I am so in love with panteras it's not even funny. The only Italian exotic that I MIGHT be able to afford. I love my Cobra to death but I'd drop it in a heartbeat for a Pantera.
