Did a search and didn't find anything, I have no idea what category this belongs in,(mods feel free to move it). I'm curious if you guys think that ford will ever put the coyote heads on a big block modular v8(IE a block with a deck height of a 5.4) Obviously the bore would need to be increased to that of the 5.0 to accommodate the larger CC/valves, something in the neighborhood of 5.8/6.0L. but other than adjusting the block all ford would need to do would be to produce a timing set for it. I ask because it kind of seems like the big block is dying, with the only applications being the 2v-pi in the E-series, and 3v in the Expedition/Navigator and 4v-C in the GT500. We all know the 5.0 coyote is a high rev'n engine, but putting the high-flow heads on a higher displacement big block would drop the powerband into a more useful range. and we also know these heads are gold! with the 5.0 matching the power of chevy's 6.2L 426hp in the Camaro, but not able to catch up to the power of the 6.4L 470hp of the Dodge challenger. putting the coyote heads on a 5.8/6.0 would leave the competition in the dust! It would be a great application for superduty and GT500+. I know the coyote heads are a bit larger than the older 4v and combine that with the big block and you'd be taking up a considerable amount of engine bay, but that's never stopped ford before. I know there are more factors, if you think of some let me know and tell me if you think ford should or will do this.
