I know this a " too lean condintion bank 2 " . Is this something that can damage the engine? I am going back to my tuner to get a more refined street tune in a week and I wanted to know if this is something that can really hurt the engine. It drives fine and still pulls. Where is bank 2 ? Driver's side or passenger?

P0174 just means that, as you are driving around closed loop, the PCM is having to richen it up on bank 2 to the point where the fuel trims hit a preprogrammed limit and sets a DTC. This can be caused by a bunch of things, including an exhaust leak, a bad O2 sensor, or a miscalbrated MAF transfer funtion in the tune. I was getting that code every couple of weeks, and the cause was a combination of an exhaust leak and a poor MAF transfer function in my tune. The exhaust leak was caused by a broken motor mount. Bank 2 on my car is the passenger side, but I think it can vary.

Markolson is bang on target. Just dont drive at WOT at 160mph and you'll be alright. haha.

Jk dont drive it very hard until you get it sorted. Could also be a bad injector on that bank. Make sure to check exhaust (exhaust leak before the O2 sensor will make the sensor read lean ,too much O2). Then injectors then MAF.

Bank 2 is driver side. Aside from checking for an exhaust leak, check to make sure that you do not have any post-MAF air leaks (i.e. inlet tubing, vacuum leaks, etc.). Most likely it's just a simple tuning issue to be addressed, and if so then Bank 1 is probably off, but not quite as far to trip the DTC (there is a +/- 25% window).
