Hey I ran into some trouble installing the H&R springs on my mach the rear springs went on fine but the front ones are giving me problems, does anyone know how to take the springs off the front so I can install the new ones? Prefrebly a How to manual, or step by step walkthrough.

Also the springs are the same height as my stock ones is this going to even lower my car at all?? Apprently online on american muscle says that it lowers it 1.75 front and 1.6 back

Thanks

It will lower your fronts, but they have to settle first. Takes about one month for proper drop.

The front can be removed with a pry bar and when installing the new springs, use the pry bar as leverage and snap them into place from the top. I only installed the bottom iso on my race springs. I got a bitchen drop.

I took the brake assembly off and hung it with safety wire to the frame (to not pinch the brake line). That way the a-arm could be pushed down and the spring removed with ease. With those drop numbers you must have the H&R SS springs? I have them with MM Iso's and it dropped them quite nice.

i tried taking off the brake assembly but i couldnt lift it off the one nut where its connected on the control arm. I have spring compressors but they seem to be getting in the way more than they are helping. I was thinking the internal spring compressors would help more. I also tried to remove the control arm up where the v starts but the nut on the right where the tie rod is wont come out because the nut keeps hitting the tie rod. Is there a write up anywhere on this?

Definitely invest in an internal spring compressor. I'm not sure about a write-up, you might want to post this (or search) in Suspension Tech.

no no no internal compressssor. Its too hard to compress the fronts, since the coils are ringed tighter. Do this:

The springs are not going to go in with ease!

When I did mine I took off the sway bar the brakes and struts. Then I used a pry bar and a friend to help push the lower control arm down and it just popped right in. A spring compressor would have made the job a way less pita.

well i got the spring out... but i cannot get the new one in....sigh.... why did ford make these cars so retarded why couldnt it be as easy as my s2000 was...I tried forcing the spring in id put it in on top first then i wld start jacking up the control arm as im trying to pry in the bottom but the spring keeps poping out.

Well try this, Jack the car as high as you possible can get a friend to help out and get a crow bar or a pry bar they work better then the tire iron. Use the tire iron or something esle to push down on the lower control arm so its very close to hitting the ground make sure your brakes are taken off. Once its as far down as it will go use the pry bar with the spring in place to install and it should just kinda pop into place, It took me a few hours when I did mine but once I got the first one in the second on only took like 4 mins.
