I bought a built shortblock from Ernie Adams "Tennesse Bullit" from a listing on this site. It showed up not at all as described. Instead of the freshly built broken in the on the dyno shortblock he advertised; he sent me a motor that had been beaten on and damaged to the point of being unsalvagable.
Of the entire assembly I managed to save the rods and crank. I tried contacting him and after much delay and almost reaching the point of making a post like this he finally called me and said he would make it right. I've never been able to reach him again.
I've tried using his email, phone, PMs on this site, and emailing his wife/girlfriend. I'm not sure which. She was the one who finally made contact with me the 1st time
It looks like he damaged his motor due to improper assembley and a poor tune, pawned it off as a good motor, and then used the funds to build a new motor.
Thanks alot Ernie!
Here is his for sale post.

Built Romeo Iron shortblock...
Diamond pistons
Oliver billet rods
MMR Cryo treated crank
Has factory main's in it, that's why I am going to MMR's monster mod. MMR says 900 flywheel HP is max on this setup, $2,000. Internals alone costed $2800, Low miles, comes with cobra billet oil pump.
"He didn't send the oil pump with the motor and when he finally did send something he sent a stock cobra pump."
Here is what arrived and the feedback from the local shop.
Well as you know, when I went to assemble your engine I noticed that a spiral lock was not installed properly and was hanging out of the piston and scraping the cylinder wall. This concerned me so I contacted you about pulling the engine the rest of the way down.
I have broken the short block down to the bare block and found that there are too many problems to continue on with the building of this engine with these parts.
I have listed some of the major problems that I have run across.:
1) The Piston skirts have collapsed.
2) Cylinder wall clearance with these pistons .009-.012 (in thousandths on an inch)
3) Valves were hitting the cylinder walls and the pistons. The valves hitting the pistons has caused the upper ring groove to collapse which was causing improper ring seal as well as creating an unnecessary hot spot on the top of the piston.
4) Rod bearing have been hammered & are worn through 3 of the layers that make up the bearing.
5) Mahle brand Rings which are a plasma moly faced, and not suitable for the amount of boost that we are planning on pushing through this engine.
6) The rear thrust washer was missing; as a result this was causing the flanged thrust washer bearing to pre-maturely fail. (This would not have lasted much longer had the engine continued to be run or if we had run it.)
7) There was a hairline crack on the snout of the crank where the woodruff key goes. (Probably caused by loose balancer or too much boost with a blower and the crank was not double keyed.)
8) The main caps were walking around so much that the mating surface between the block and the main cap has galled up and the block now needs to be line bored. (Again, probably caused by too much boost without running a main gurgle.)
This engine was built with some once nice parts but improper application of parts along with some builder errors have rendered most of these parts damaged and useless. Please keep me informed on what action to take from here.
