Somebody has to be working on this....

I've gathered what info I can off the net, etc... and there isn't much out there yet. Bellhousing is the same. Motor mounts I hope will work as the Coyote and Boss go in the same pickup suspension, at the worst the bosses should be in a location that will work with some custom mounts. Pan is rear sump. I believe the firing order is different, but some re-wiring of a stock 2v/4v harness can fix that. With a manual t.b. and VVT lockouts it seems like it would be similar to a 3v swap for control. The one big downside (assuming it fits) is weight, shipping weight is listed as 625 lbs, not sure how much extra for the crating but regardless its a big bitch....

So, who's gonna be the first? :hmm:

Sorry to tell you the bad news, but I don't think the 6.2 will fit. First the lenght is almost 4" longer than a 4.6/ 5.4 or the new 5.0. Second the location of the 2ndary plugs would be a major problem to change or check, since they are located in same location as a pushrod motor, so say good by to the shocktowers. Third, the height is almost 1.5" higher than a 5.4 Dohc. Now for the electronics, you would have to use that computer since the engine is a different beast altogether. As for the cam phasers, the cams are different altogether. By the way the engine is another 1" wider than a two or three valve engine. So longer story short, unless you have a welder and a very big hammer and can do alot of fabing then GOOD LUCK!!!!!

Its all hypothetical until someone actually tries to stuff one in, but its fun to ponder.....

Have you seen a 4.6/5.4 in a Fox? There's like a foot or more from the front of the motor to the body structure, length should not be an issue. Secondary plugs, unless you have some reason to access them frequently not a big issue in my mind. Height might be an issue, the stock t.b. on them sticks up several inches over the intake manifold so a swap to a manual t.b. help quite a bit. I have a 3" cowl hood on mine, have no idea if that would be enough or not, though I think it probably would be. For the computer, an engine is an engine. You tell the computer how big the engine is, measure the incoming air, and provide spark at the appropriate time. You can rewire a harness to change the firing order, and the cam phasers would be locked out so not an issue. Thats assuming there's a compatible crank trigger. Width might be the biggest stumbling block, deck height on the Boss is ~.6" less than on a 5.4 so depending on the head casting it could be narrower. I have a 3v 5.4 in my 2001 truck, I'll have to measure the width sometime and compare to the engine bay in my '92 Fox. I would be shocked if the Boss is wider than a 5.4 DOHC and those fit. Deck height is similar to a 351 and bore spacing is just a little wider, so take some 351 swap headers, cut the flanges off and spread the tubes around 1/8" per cylinder, make some flanges for the Boss head, and you might be pretty close to working longtubes... I find the possibilities very intriguing.... :bye:
