Yes. It's very hard to call a bottom or high. If I get within a few hundred points of either when I buy and sell I'm happy. It looks like the Feds might not cut rates as the rest of the economy isn't bad off yet. If they don't it could get ugly. If you have the right to move your retirement funds between different mutual funds,get into liquid cash for awhile.They usually have something like a stable value fund or the like that you can park your money getting interest.If the market tanks in a panic ,That is when you start buying.You get that days price at market close. So check out if you are able to move funds in your retirement. There is a very good chance this is going to happen. GGBIW:headspin:

yes,millions on welfare depend on you.. Who gave the order?Bush is the cammander in chief so who did what,where,and why ? I thought the code could only be given okay to use by Him. It pointed out that 2 MILLION of these mortgages will have thier mortgage payment double or triple in the near future.:scare:I think it would be safe to say that 2 million familys will have less to spend in the economy at the very least. They need to allow a way these people can refi and raise the FHA lending limits substatially for a conforming loan. Those that want to hold on should be given a chance. This will do to much damage to the economy if they fail to act.
If they are behind in payments,refi the amount and give them first chance. Worst off first.Maybe 35 year or even 40 year to get the payment down. Make them Guaranteed by the FHA with assumable lending. Package them so they can make it or sell after a certain time. Just a few rule changes would help. This is serious. GGBIW

You already know what my view about the things that have taken place in the last 5 years are..

Alot of criminal conduct has taken place.. This is America.. I don't like to see American's struggling to keep a roof over their family and small children's head.. A law has been broken GGBIW, while families have been sacrificed for some future experiment in regards to the NAU..

I don't like it one bit.. Everytime I see a father have to move his children out of his home, he put his blood, sweat and tears into to provide a good life for his kids, I get sick to my stomach..

I feel compassion every bit that you do. Personel responsibility has to step in somewhere. When circumstances arise due to nothing the populace has done I feel that's when the government should step in. Do we gaurantee every bad investment? Yeah, Sad thing is a lot of people did it and it was easy not to long ago. I built my home and did well because of it. I know I couldn't buy my home now. Saw an interesting speaker on bloomberg saying that billions of those mortgages that had 5 year fixed are now being adjusted in the next few months. When they start defaulting in an already flooded foreclosure market watch out! Fear prevails in the market today. Next is panic. Everyone will try to get out at once. I'll step in 100% that day. A person approached John Paul Getty one day and asked how he became so wealthy? He replied " Buy low, Sell high" . That scenario is likely to come to fruitation in the next few months. So far, much of the underlying weakness in the subprime market really hasn't had a chance to unwind. Saw that getting mortgage money above the FHA funding limits was evaporating. I believe that stands at 417K. Problem is ,there is a HUGE inventory of high end homes that can't be financed because of that limit. Evryone one wants to sell their mortgages to fannie may and don't lend above that limit. All those builders will have to lay off workers unless that problem is solved and it just escalates from there. Right now,fear prevails as you watch the market jump in either direction in three digit moves. No one really knows how bad it really is.Credit is the lifeblood of this enonomy. If we can't get funding for large ticket items you can bet a dollar to a donut that the economy is going to tank. If this isn't serious why is the fed pumping billions into the credit market? What the heck is Citi bank doing borrowing 5 billion after selling a huge amount of corporate bonds? Being in cash is the best place until we get clarity on how bad it is. GGBIW:usflag:

Interesting stock market prediction. The Feds meet before that date to decide on an interest rate cut. What concerns me is banks going to the Feds funding window. Citi corp completed a huge offering of corporate bonds but still borowed from the Feds. Historicaly,when a bank borrowed at the fed funding window it was looked upon as a sign of weakness. I think the market will test it's previous lows before it moves forward. When you short the market as much as was stated, it can have the opposite effect if the market doesn't go down and they have to cover their position by buying stocks. I don't see the market taking off with this underlying sub prime mortgage debacle. If the market does crash , it will be a great time to get in the market. I'm currently in treasuries as I do believe the market will test it's previous low. If panic presides, a crash is very possible. I know hedge funds short the market to cover some of their holdings but that amount is a strong bet the market is heading south. Time will tell. GGBIW:wink:

I am not against anyone coming here to seek a better way of life to support their family.. I am not focusing too much really on the immigration aspect of it really.. I am strictly viewing the situation from the standpoint of safety and accountability of our nations highways, and another job lost..

Still wondering how elected officials continue to pass laws and support ideas which run contrary to the best circumstance for American Citizens..

I think the majority of americans are in the middle of the political spectrum. Not the left or right. When elections come up they all gravitate to the middle to get elected. A lot of our members can't stand president Bush,and that's okay. I just don't see him as a lier or deciever. Governing this great country of ours is not easy but to think that the terrorists will leave us alone is not reality. Interesting that the story I posted about the two brothers in the bible is that 1 brothers decendents control a vast amount of money(jews),the other decendents control the vast oil reserves of the world(arabs) . I've also noticed that many have read our posts and just read not posting responses. When we disagree in a civil manner, these members can choose what they think is truth. There is nothing wrong with feeling Patriotic. I just think that this is hot potato and it isn't going to be easy fixing. Our economy has boomed because of free trade. We are a nation of laws and can't ignore they came illegally either. I appreciate the passion that you all express your views with. Imigration is another hot topic. You certainly know how to pick them. To be honest with you,my local has taken in many welders from south of the border rather than allow them to work non union. I have mixed feelings on that. Where I live,most of the hard work in the vinyards is done by them. I believe the farmers need them and voice that. Deporting all of them could do us more harm than good. Free trade is better in the long run but I also see your valid points. If we let 1 country do it we need to allow the other too. I read another article on that and evidently they have to allow our truckers access to their country to deliver also. You made a point about making an insurance claim aganst a mexican company. I would hope our law makers make them carry U.S. insurance just like we have to buy mexican insurance to drive in their country. I'm torn on this subject as both sides have valid points. I do make a decent wage at my job but it took over 18 years before I became superintendent. I was a foreman for 8 years before that. Every job at the bridge is posted and many apply. Then you go through an interview process to determine who the best applicant is. Pretty gut wrenching for an Ironworker that normally goes to his unions dispatch window for a job. I don't think it's right to come into this country illegally. We can't reward people breaking the law. I don't see them taking our dignity as you do.Most of the jobs they take we don't want to do. I think many of them are seeking a better life for their familys but I don't condone breaking the laws of our country. You certainly know how to pick hot topics; GGBIWk:

I am concerned about a citizen of this Country trying to collect an insurance claim from a Company in Mexico..

I am worried about the job of a truck driver who is a US citizen who used to carry the goods that are now on the back of a truck from Mexico, delivering to a store in Topeka Kansas..

I'd like to see someone try to total up how much death and suffering has been perpetrated in the name of each of the major religions. Based on the crusades alone,the christian religion would probably be at the top.

As far as chuch is concerned I Totally see your point. You don't have to go to church to pray.It's not a weakness to ask the creator for guidance. I have issue with many churches that lead people astray. A relationship with Jesus is personal. You can talk to him directly. He gave an example how to pray in the lords prayer.
